Living Arts Centre

Performance Company

Young performers will take the stage as they create a feature-length production as a part of the Centre’s P.L.A.Y. Project! Performers will become immersed in the process of staging a theatre production under the direction of industry professionals.

Rehearsals will focus on skill-building in acting, vocals, and choreography while developing leadership abilities in collaboration, character development, and communication. Performances will be presented in one of the Centre’s professional theatres. Productions will be cast through an audition process, and successful cast members will be invited to join the program. Audition Process
All participants interested in joining the P.L.A.Y. Project must first audition for the program. To register for an audition, please complete the linked online application with your child’s information. You will receive an email with the audition materials and additional details approx. 2 weeks prior to the audition.

After the audition process, our team will select the participants to be cast in the Project. Within the two weeks following, all who auditioned will receive an email either accepting them into the Project or encouraging them to join a stream of the Creative Ensemble program. The email for participants who have been cast in the Project will include a link to registration. Selected participants must register for the program in order to participate (Cost $585).

Rehearsal Schedule
The contents of each rehearsal will vary, but generally include vocal and movement warm ups, choreography, blocking, script and character development, and song preparation. All rehearsals involve the entire cast, with individual scenes and musical numbers developed throughout the process.

The P.L.A.Y. Project will perform in one of our professional theatres in both a matinee and an evening performance. Both performances are open to the public with tickets on sale through our Box Office.
