Youth Courses & Workshops (13+)

Have fun while expressing yourself! Small class sizes and quality materials allow you to learn new skills or improve on the ones you have. Look for our series of courses designed for students preparing to apply for a fine arts program.

Ages: 13-17

Filmmaking
Featuring lots of hands-on time, students will be introduced to a range of sound and lighting equipment, along with new media such as smart phone apps as they bring their visions to life and create a short film. Bring a smart phone if you have one, not required.

Intro to Digital Photography
With guided projects and in class practice, students will have the opportunity to develop their skills or to learn new ones as they explore the digital medium of photography.

Line Dance
Great for beginners, this course introduces students to basic dance terminology, steps and choreography while moving to a variety of music, from Country to Latin to pop hits. A perfect combination of fun and fitness!

Modern and Lyrical Dance
Express yourself while experiencing the intense, theatrical style of Modern and Lyrical dance!

Pottery and Ceramic Art
Through demonstrations, hands-on exercises and plenty of individual instruction, students will learn foundational techniques for hand-building ceramic pieces, creating pottery on the wheel and applying a variety of glazing and finishing techniques.

Writing Lab
Through discussions and feedback, students strengthen skills in observation, imagination and language in a pressure-free class. Topics may include the different forms of fiction, character development, personal narratives, and more.

Drawing and Illustration
By referencing traditional storytelling and visual narratives students will draw from life, images and texts in their creation of graphics and illustrations.

Fashion and Fabric Studio
From stylish neckwear to unique tote-bags, students will create a variety of fashionable accessories in our professional Textiles and Fibre Arts Studio.

Figure Drawing Workshop
By examining the body’s muscles, definition, shape and form, beginner-to-intermediate artists will gain a better understanding of how to capture the figure.
