Orchestras Mississauga (formerly known as the Mississauga Symphonic Association) operates the Mississauga Symphony Orchestra, the Mississauga Philharmonic and Sinfonia Mississauga. A charitable not-for-profit organization dedicated to celebrating the art of live music, Orchestras Mississauga endeavours to foster the appreciation, development and advancement of quality orchestral music through its production of high calibre performances featuring local musicians, prominent Canadian and international artists.

Join Maestro John Barnum, and the Mississauga Symphony with guest pianist Anya Alexeyev in Khatchaturian's uplifting and energizing Piano Concerto. Award-winning pianist Alexeyev, a graduate of the world famous Moscow Concervatory, brings both bravado and sensitivity to her
performances. The concert will also feature the MSO in Shostakovich's Symphony No. 1 a
tremendous success from its premiere, which displays an interesting and characteristic
combination of liveliness and wit on the one hand, and drama and tragedy on the other; and
Berlioz's moving Benevenuto Cellini Overture, a brilliant concert overture, remarkable for its imaginative and varied orchestral writing, its rhythmic vitality and its abundant melodic
inspiration
