The Next Big Thing

The Living Arts Centre is accepting applications from post-secondary students and recent graduates from art and craft programs for The Next Big Thing, an exhibition that showcases new and emerging artists.

Free Admission

The exhibition gallery operates on an annual rotating schedule of approximately 7 exhibitions. The season runs from September to August with a one-week closure during December and a two-week closure between August and September. As a general rule, the Coordinator schedules exhibitions at least one fiscal year in advance in order to ensure that gallery content compliments other programming within the Centre.

The mandate of the gallery is to nurture, foster, encourage and support the growth of artists within the Mississauga community. In following this, artists from the Peel Region are given priority exhibiting in the space. At present, the gallery does not host solo exhibitions. The exhibition Curator will accept proposals from collectives, artist organizations, or groups of three or more individuals. Individual artists may apply to be considered for future group exhibitions organized by the Curator.

Interested artist groups should submit exhibition proposals to the Curator. Click for more information. The gallery has an open application deadline and is always considering proposals.
