Living Arts Centre

Patricia Cano

Showtime: Friday, November 17, 2017

Location: RBC Theatre

This new program titled MADRE | AMIGA | HERMANA explores themes such as motherhood, race relations, and the environment, and the stories behind each song are situated in the cultures in which I was raised. For instance, Peru and my ancestral mothers are featured on the album, as are the streets of Sudbury, ON and the story of a Franco-Ontarian love story gone wrong, as well as an ode to 'la Pachamama' - Mother Earth. For this ode to Mother Earth, the Quechua language will be featured , whereas the rest of the songs are either in Spanish, French, or English, with some songs featuring two of these languages at once, and one song featuring all three languages."

"Patricia Cano was one of the biggest sensations of the Mundial Montreal showcase program 2012. Her powerful voice, graceful poise on stage, deep cultural roots and disarming smile won her many fans in the gathering of VIP organizers. I Look forward to seeing Patricia Cano storm world stages with her enormous talent. I would recommend to any presenter that Patricia be invited to enhance their programming!" - Derek Andrews, Music Curator Luminato Festival (Toronto) & Artistic Director of Mundial Montreal
