The Living Arts Centre Resident Artists are thinkers and makers, both designers and labourers foremost driven by the desire to work with their hands and yearning for sustained creative engagement. While introducing audiences to each artist- the maker and the product of the maker’s hand, in production highlights the significance of workmanship and the transformative power of creating. Working across media, Residents in ceramics, glass, jewellery, painting & drawing, photography, textiles, sculpture, video and wood, celebrate the act of making and the momentum garnered through the process. Works featured discuss contemporary craft, the political, social and economic impact of handmade vs. mass produced culture and remind viewers of the true value of the maker’s hand.

Resident Artists include: Matthew Agostinis, Claire Anderson, Andrew Beauchamp, Michelle Bosveld, Tommy Cudmore, Katrina Ennamorato, Alyssa Getz, Noelle Hamlyn, Catherine Hibbits, Vanessa Jackson, Jolanta Jung, Olga Klosowski, Kelly Lowe, Ian MacInnis, Aidan Mayner, Fabio Merker, Gular Mustafa, Heidi Schell, Margaret Stawicki, Ishrat Raza Suhrwardy, Tamara Thompson, Julie Vetro and Gabriela Wilson
