Community Art Courses & Events
With guidance from Peel Public Health and the Medical Officer of Health, and in an abundance of caution for both our residents and staff around the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Mississauga and Living Arts Centre is responding with the cancellation of our remaining classes in the winter session of community courses. The Centre will be closed to the public from March 14 to April 5, 2020.
Our Box Office will provide a prorated refund for the remainder of the course term or a full refund for cancelled workshops. If you paid by credit card this refund will be directly applied otherwise please contact our box office at 905-360-6000 for further assistance. Please note our extended box office hours on March 13th and 14th are 11:00 am -8:00 pm. We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to seeing you at the LAC soon.
According to Peel Public Health, the best way to prevent the spread of respiratory viruses such as COVID-19 is to:
- Stay home if you are sick.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Cover coughs and sneezes with your sleeve.
- Wash your hands with soap and water or with alcohol-based hand rub.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Clean frequently touched objects and surfaces.

Engage yourself in the world of glass with courses in hot glass, fused glass and flameworking. Try a workshop to make a beautiful fused glass work or create a stunning vase in our 10-week course. From beginner to advanced-level classes, our professional artist-instructors will show you the latest techniques in this amazing art form! Our 1 to 4 day workshops give you a taste of the arts, while 10 week courses provide an in-depth experience in hands-on creativity. Both take place in our professionally equipped studios.
Please note: Unless otherwise indicated these courses are 10 weeks in length and include all materials and applicable taxes.
Hot Glass 201
Develop skills learned in Hot Glass 101 and refine your designs, through instructor demos to create more complex forms in this intermediate level class.
Hot Glass 101
In this beginner class, explore how to make sculptural, decorative and functional hot glass works.
Hot Glass Sculpture Workshop
This introductory workshop is designed to illustrate the basic skills needed to create sculptures using molten glass.
Flamework Charm Bracelet Workshop
Create original, colourful glass beads using a stationary bench torch and incorporate them into your own charm bracelet.
Hot Glass Workshop
Learn the basics of working with hot glass to make your own sculptures and vessels.
Floral Flameworking Workshop
Using a stationary bench torch, students will create glass flowers.
