Public Service Announcement: COVID-19 Update

We’re actively working to safely reopen the Living Arts Centre in the near future (date to be announced) with support from Peel Public Health and our government partners. Additionally, we have been working closely with the Culture Division at the City of Mississauga over the past six months to transition our operations to a City management model. As you may recall, the City of Mississauga passed a motion last year to assume responsibility for all operations and management of the LAC facility on September 1, 2020. As our valued patron, we’d like to address a few Frequently Asked Questions about what the transition to the City of Mississauga might mean for you, our program, workshop and camps participants.

We want to hear from you! Help us shape our Fall-Winter Creative Programs by completing this survey. Your feedback matters.

Please respond to this survey by July 31, 2020. Click here to take the survey.

As a result of our transition to the City of Mississauga effective September 2020, please be advised that our Fall-Winter 2020 Registration Dates for the Living Arts Centre programs and workshops have changed:

Registration for the Living Arts Centre Fall-Winter Creative Programs will open for preview mid- to late-August.

We will be following-up with you by email in the coming weeks with the preview link, along with more information on how to register. Registration will follow.

If you or your child have work to collect from the Winter Session at the Living Arts Centre, our team will be in touch with you directly to schedule a pick-up.

  • The health and safety of our employees and guests are our number one priority and we are taking all necessary precautions to maintain a safe environment.
  • The Living Arts Centre will deliver a clean and sanitized event space, studios and common areas and regularly apply a disinfectant to high-touch surfaces in common areas such as washrooms, door handles, handrails and elevator buttons.
  • Screening health questions will be sent to you by email ahead of your arrival to the Living Arts Centre. These screening questions will also be presented to you prior to entering the building, theatre and studios.
  • If you are experiencing symptoms or answer “yes” to any of the screening questions, we ask you to please stay home.

  • All persons entering the Living Arts Centre and within public spaces of building must wear a face covering that securely covers the nose, mouth and chin as required under the City of Mississauga by-law no. 0169-2020. Any changes to this by-law prior to reopening will be communicated to you on our website and social media channels. Please check back often.
    • Exceptions include children two and under, those who have trouble breathing or are otherwise unable to wear a face covering for medical reasons or for reasons of disability, including persons who are unable to remove masks without assistance. Proof of a medical condition or disability is not required.
    • Examples of a face covering include a mask, bandana, neck warmer or scarf.
  • Face coverings may only be removed while inside a meeting room, studio or theatre provided that patrons are able to safely maintain a physical distance of 2 metres (6-feet).
  • Only 2 people at time will be permitted in the elevator and must wear a face covering.

  • Maximum occupancies that will be allowed in the Living Arts Centre will be communicated to you with as much notice and as close to the event or program start date as possible.
  • Occupancies have been created based on guidance by provincial orders and local health authorities.

Thank-you for your continued patience and support. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Living Arts Centre soon!
